All UK employers need to be prepared for automatically enrolling their employees into a suitable pension scheme, starting later this year. Regardless of the size of the business and how many staff they employ, auto-enrolment applies and is here to stay.
This session, aimed specifically at non-pensions lawyers, will consider the following key issues:
- an introduction to the legal duties relating to auto-enrolment and when they apply;
- the definition of a worker and how this affects the employer's obligations;
- what pension vehicles an employer can use to comply; and
- how auto-enrolment interrelates with other employee benefits and what benefits an employer might need to adapt.
