An introduction to Automatic Enrolment: The key facts you need to know

Thursday 28 June 2012

All UK employers need to be prepared for automatically enrolling their employees into a suitable pension scheme, starting later this year. Regardless of the size of the business and how many staff they employ, auto-enrolment applies and is here to stay.

This session, aimed specifically at non-pensions lawyers, will consider the following key issues:

  • an introduction to the legal duties relating to auto-enrolment and when they apply;
  • the definition of a worker and how this affects the employer's obligations;
  • what pension vehicles an employer can use to comply; and
  • how auto-enrolment interrelates with other employee benefits and what benefits an employer might need to adapt.

Breakfast will be provided and the session will be completed by 10.00am. If you have any questions you would like to submit in advance, please email
