I have over 20 years’ experience in contentious pensions work, advising clients throughout that time on pensions disputes and litigation matters.

I have in-depth experience of a variety of cases which have been determined in the High Court, Court of Appeal and the House of Lords as it was.  I was involved in the Gallagher case, one of the first pensions rectification cases which paved the way for many others since then. I have also worked on professional negligence cases, judicial review of the PPF and trustee applications for directions.

I specialise in member disputes both under my clients’ internal disputes processes and before the Pensions Ombudsman and the Pension Protection Fund Ombudsman regarding challenges to PPF levies. I have also been involved in contentious matters involving The Pensions Regulator and the Financial Assistance Scheme. ..

Particular areas of specialism and interest include:

  • transfers
  • death benefit distribution cases
  • misquotation of benefits and recovery of overpayments
  • data protection.
