Pauline Sibbit elected as Chairman of the APL

Pauline Sibbit, partner at Sacker & Partners LLP, has been elected as Chairman of the Association of Pension Lawyers (APL) for a two-year period.

Pauline, who became a partner at Sackers in 1990, officially takes up the position following the 25th APL AGM on Friday 6th November. Her election comes following several years serving on the main APL committee and the parliamentary and legislative sub-committee.

Pauline commented: “The technical knowledge needed to practice pensions law is becoming increasingly complex and is the subject of constant change. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues at the APL to continue the great work of previous chairs and to maintain the APL’s collaborative and constructive approach in its discussions with the authorities and other pensions bodies, so that we all play our part in minimising legal complexity.”

The APL is an association of over 1100 pension lawyers in the UK. It is non-profit making and aims to promote awareness of the importance of law in the provision of pensions. It also operates as a discussion forum and provides educational services to pension lawyers.
