• February 2009 - Sackers wins its first award of 2009 at the Legal Business Awards

  Sacker & Partners LLP, the UK’s leading specialist pensions law firm, has won the prestigious Employment, Pensions and Benefits Team of the Year award at The Legal Business Awards 2009.

• February 2009 - Sackers comments on TPR approval for Sea Containers

  The Pensions Regulator has approved the financial support arrangements of Sea Containers Limited (SCL) for two of its UK group pension schemes; the Sea Containers 1983 Pension Scheme and the Sea Containers 1990 Pension Scheme.

• February 2009 - Sackers submits comments to consultation on Material Detriment Code and Draft Regulations

  Sacker & Partners LLP has responded to two consultations (published on 15 December 2008) relating to the functions of the Pensions Regulator: the consultation by the Department for Work and Pensions on the Pensions Regulator (Miscellaneous Amendment) Regulations 2009, and the Pension Regulator’s own consultation on its latest draft code of practice, on the application of the “material detriment test”.

• February 2009 - Sackers submits comments on draft Occupational, Personal and Stakeholder Pensions (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2009

  Sacker & Partners LLP has responded to the consultation on the draft Occupational, Personal and Stakeholder Pensions (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2009 (“the Regulations”) which was published by the Department for Work and Pensions on 15 December 2008. The consultation closed on 30 January 2009.

• January 2009 - Sackers submits comments on trustee knowledge and understanding consultation

  Sacker & Partners LLP has responded to the Review of the Trustee Knowledge and Understanding code of practice and scope guidance published by the Pensions Regulator on 13 October 2008. The consultation closed on 31 December 2008.
