Sackers awarded House of Commons mandate
Sackers, the UK’s leading specialist pensions law firm, has been appointed to advise the trustees of the Parliamentary Contributory Pension Fund (PCPF), the pension fund for Members of Parliament and Ministers.
The appointment follows a competitive tender process. The presenting team comprised Robin Simmons, Andrew Bradshaw and Stuart O'Brien.
Robin Simmons, who led the tender on behalf of Sackers, commented: “We are delighted to have been appointed to advise the trustees of the Parliamentary Contributory Pension Fund. The opportunity to work with such a prestigious and high-profile scheme is one that Sackers relishes. We look forward to a long and successful working relationship with the Trustees and the Pensions Unit at the House of Commons, particularly as the Fund is the subject of close public scrutiny.”
Jimmy Walker, Head of Pensions at the House of Commons commented: “Our responsibility is to deliver the highest level of service for our members and manage the Fund's investments effectively. We therefore require the Trustees' advisers to meet our exacting standards. The PCPF is a unique scheme and the Trustees felt that a specialist law firm, such as Sackers, who were appointed following a rigorous selection process, would have the skills required to help them meet their objectives.”
