Sackers’ Paul Phillips elected to NAPF Investment Council

Paul Phillips, partner at Sacker & Partners LLP (“Sackers”), the UK’s leading specialist pensions law firm, has been elected to the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) Investment Council for a four-year term commencing on 21 October.

The NAPF received a record number of nominations for the Investment Council, with sixteen nominations for only five available places.

NAPF councils are the main policy-making bodies through which the NAPF develops and agrees policies on behalf of its members. Over the past year the Investment Council has focussed on several issues, including: pensions tax, default investment funds, Green Investment Bank, DB de-risking, investment governance, corporate governance/stewardship and key regulatory issues such as accounting standards.

Paul Phillips comments: “Being part of the NAPF’s Investment Council is an excellent opportunity to be involved in shaping the future of UK pensions policy. I look forward to working with the other members of the Investment Council to develop the NAPF’s position on investment policy.”
