Chris Close

Chris brings his clients wide-ranging experience in all aspects of pensions work, particularly the pensions aspects of take-overs, acquisitions and disposals, TUPE and scheme mergers. His corporate transaction work increasingly involves advice on funding and security issues and the effect of the Beckmann and Martin decisions on pensions in the context of TUPE. He was involved in several court cases including South West Trains v Wightman.

Chris is head of the Sacker & Partners unit which provides services to other Law firms. He lectures on topical pensions issues at the Association of Pension Lawyers and commercial conferences.

His principal area of expertise is in advising trustees of pension schemes.
