Seminar: Overpayments

Thursday 25 May 2017

Overpayments are an unfortunate fact of life when it comes to pension schemes. In recent times there have been significant legal developments that impact on the way in which Trustees should deal with such cases. The Pensions & Investment Litigation (PIL) team will present a round table session focusing on how trustees, employers and administrators should deal with overpayment cases.

The session will use case studies to bring to life some of the tricky issues surrounding the recovery of overpayments and, particularly, the extent to which members may have a defence to full recovery on grounds of limitation. The idea of the session is to encourage discussion, give practical guidance and allow those around the table to share their own experiences of dealing with problem cases.

As is our usual practice we will offering the session on two separate days – one morning and one lunchtime slot – so we hope that as many as possible of you can join us for what we hope will be a lively and informative discussion.

When registering please select which session you would like to attend:

Tuesday 23 May (12.30pm) or Thursday 25 May (9.00am).

By attending this event you can claim 1.5 hours CPD under the PMI CPD scheme.
