Ian Pittaway comments on the future of pensions in The Times
Senior partner, Ian Pittaway, discusses the future of UK pensions, stating that until 20 years ago, there was a consensus on how to operate. “But we are in a vacuum at the moment… There will be new legislation coming in but I suspect it will be dealing with yesterday’s problems rather than the challenges ahead. What I should like to see is a pensions commission, an independent body which could shape a long-term strategy for the industry.
Ian also spoke about two successful initiatives – auto-enrolment and the creation of dashboards, saying “it is easy to point at problems… but the overwhelming majority of pensioners are being paid their pensions correctly in a way which has transformed old age for most.
