Ralph McClelland comments on whether the LGPS is ready for Brexit in the Local Government Chronicle


Partner, Ralph McClelland, comments on the legal challenges facing the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) in relation to Brexit.

McClelland considers that whilst the legal impact in the short term has been assisted by the FCA putting in place the temporary permissions regime, cross-border issues could become problematic in the longer term, particularly when it comes to, “‘choice of laws’ clauses and the enforcement of legal judgments across jurisdictional boundaries.”
