Emily Forrest comments as first ‘connect by’ date arrives for Dashboards

Emily Forrest, partner, comments: “As with any major project, the dashboards journey hasn’t always been plain sailing. Since the concept of a pensions dashboard was initially recommended by the FCA back in 2014, we have lived through a pandemic, had nine pensions ministers and a dashboards “reset”. But today marks a significant milestone, with the first “connect by” date in the DWP’s connection guidance having finally arrived. The largest schemes are expected to connect by 30 April 2025 and, while there is a bit of a backlog in connecting all the relevant providers directly to the ecosystem, the first few have successfully got on board.

As schemes continue with their preparations and connect in line with the staged timetable, we can look ahead to the next port of call in the summer – user testing. But with the overall statutory connection deadline being 31 October 2026, our ultimate destination – dashboards going live to the public – still remains some way off on the horizon.”
