Emily Whitelock

Senior associate

Emily advises clients across a range of sectors and scheme sizes, working with both defined benefit and defined contribution pension arrangements.

Emily has recently been involved with:

  • advising trustees and employers in relation to bulk transfers to DC master trusts
  • supporting trustee clients in relation to buy-in transactions
  • providing advice on GMP equalisation and conversion
  • advising in relation to scheme closure proposals and section 75 issues

As well as providing support on larger projects, Emily also handles a spectrum of day-to-day queries including general compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, member disputes, interpretation of governing documentation and transfers.

She has a particular interest in questions relating to former cross-border schemes and section 615 schemes, as well as trustee governance. She completed a secondment to a trustee executive in 2018 to provide legal, strategic and commercial assistance on a broad range of scheme-related issues and actions, and regularly provides trustee training on legal and regulatory developments.

Emily is also a member of the firm’s governance group, which focuses on the latest governance requirements facing trustees.
