Sackers promotes Emma Martin to senior counsel

Sackers announced that Emma Martin has been promoted to senior counsel.

Helen Ball, Head of DC, said: “Emma’s promotion reflects the significant contribution she has made to the development of our DC practice at a senior level. Her technical expertise and strong relationships in the workplace and personal pensions sector will help us to accelerate our strategic ambitions in this space.”

Emma, who joined the firm in 2010 after qualification, is an experienced pensions lawyer with a particular focus on DC pensions. Emma advises occupational pension schemes, master trusts, personal pension providers and IGCs on all areas of DC work. Recent experience includes at retirement projects for schemes looking at “bolt on” arrangements with master trusts, one of the first master trust consolidations to take place under the new regime, large scale DC investment change projects and TCFD compliance.

In 2015 Emma completed a secondment to the legal team at TPR, where she advised on DC policy matters. She has since maintained a keen interest in DC policy and regulatory developments and has worked closely with TPR, the FCA, the DWP and the PLSA on various policy developments in the DC space.
