Seminar: DB or not DB

Thursday 4 May 2017

The future of DB schemes is firmly in the spotlight, with the pensions issues at BHS and British Steel receiving huge press coverage and the Government turning its attention to the sustainability of DB schemes with its latest Green Paper.

As deficits and the costs of running DB schemes continue to rise, trustees and employers face a number of challenges. Our seminar is designed to give practical insights into how to address these challenges, based on real life case studies and our experience of advising over 400 DB schemes of all shapes and sizes and at all stages of their life cycle. In particular, we will focus on:

  • Managing DB liabilities proactively
  • How TPR intervention can help reduce the strain on DB schemes
  • “Special arrangements” for stressed sponsors and schemes, based around a case study of the Halcrow Pension Scheme
  • What changes the Government might have in store to support DB schemes further.

By attending this event you can claim 1.5 hours CPD under the PMI CPD scheme.
