ICO calls for views on draft anonymisation, pseudonymisation and privacy enhancing technologies guidance

The ICO is calling for views on its updated draft guidance on anonymisation, pseudonymisation and privacy enhancing technologies. The ICO is publishing its updated draft guidance in stages, with this chapter on “pseudonymisation” being the third instalment.  The chapter is intended to explain the key differences between pseudonymisation and anonymisation. It also explores how pseudonymisation, which refers “to techniques that replace, remove or transform information that identifies individuals”, can help to reduce risk and allow personal data to be processed for other purposes.

The consultation closes on 16 September 2022.
