Careers

We employ over 100 people at Sackers, most of whom are interested in a long term career with us. Many people join us because of our distinctive culture.  In part this is because we are a specialist firm, but also because we value individuality. People at all levels of the business are down to earth and approachable.  There is a respect for the individual and an acknowledgement that individual differences can provide a more rounded service.

Working at Sackers

In addition to high quality work and training, you can expect:

To be treated fairly and with respect

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce brings. We want our staff to be themselves at work, have a sense of purpose and feel supported. We greatly value our staff and their wellbeing and have taken positive and proactive steps to promote a friendly and supportive culture.

A sociable working environment

We are a sociable firm and enjoy spending time together away from our desks. Our social committee is responsible for creating little ‘pockets of joy’ throughout the year with a host of events including family fun-days, cinema and theatre trips, curry nights, leaver and joiner drinks, spa days, coffee baristas at breakfast time and much more!

A healthy work-life balance

There is no long hours culture at Sackers, although sometimes you may need to work outside core working hours in order to meet urgent client or other business needs, as in any City law firm. We offer hybrid working, and all staff are provided with the necessary IT and workstation equipment to allow them to work comfortably from home.

Feedback on your performance

Receiving open and honest feedback on performance is important as it gives a sense of skills and strengths and provides opportunities to improve and enhance performance. We place a lot of importance on supporting our staff in their development which includes giving feedback, and it is encouraged on an ongoing basis. In addition, all new joiners have a three and six month review, where they receive attributable feedback from the key people that they work with. Thereafter all staff have an annual appraisal.

Opportunities to contribute to the wider community

Our CSR Committee is responsible for ensuring we are operating as a responsible business through environmental, social and sustainability initiatives. Staff are encouraged to get involved in any way that they can.
